LAUTH MISSING PERSONS MISSION STATEMENT

Lauth Missing Persons Investigations welcomes you to lauthmissingpersons.com. Founder Thomas Lauth conducts missing persons investigations in the disappearance of missing children and missing adults, including referral cases from the National Missing Children’s Organization (NMCO) and the National Center for Missing Adults (NMCA). (see our reference letter) This web site is designed to assist you in answering questions regarding the investigative services offered in regards to kidnappings, runaways,  and adult disappearances. Refer to our missing people Case Profiles to better help you define your 'Missing Persons' situation.

While Lauth Missing Persons clients are nationwide, typically investigations are conducted to locate loved ones that are considered to be missing and “at-risk” by local police departments after an initial report has been made.

The terms “Missing” and “at-risk” are words that are typically used when referring to the victim when there is a suspicion of foul play, diminished mental capacity due to a mental or emotional illness or other incapacitating disease or physical disability.

Some examples are missing adults and children labeled as “missing” by the police, but it is still to be determined if they departed on their own decision. A number of these cases may have evidence of foul play but the police have discounted such signs. Other cases may include those having disappeared and possibly on the streets homeless and delusional, victims of domestic abuse, mental illness, drug addiction, and alcoholism. In cases where there are suspicions of foul play it is imperative that the intervention be expedient.

Depending on the urgency of the case response time can be within 24 hours. Emergency contact can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere in the United States by calling Lauth Missing Persons at 1.800.889.3463.

ABOUT THOMAS LAUTH

~
To Thomas Lauth:
"Recently my son was missing and we had no where to turn until we found you. Our son had taken off for work and never got there. No one knew where he was and I called the Missing Children's Hotline. You don't know what you gave back to us. My son means the world to me and getting him back made my world complete again."
Donna, the mother of Seth

~To Thomas Lauth:
"A few weeks ago my 17-year old daughter was missing. I cannot describe in words just how awful I felt during this horrible ordeal. I hired Tom to find my daughter, Alicia. I could sense that he had a deep caring for children. Now my daughter is safe. Tom called a few weeks after she was found to see how we were doing."
Carolyn, the mother of Alicia

Lauth Missing Persons’ lead investigator, Thomas Lauth, has twenty years experience in missing persons investigations. That experience includes locating missing children, runaway teens as well as missing adults where foul play is suspected or mental illness is an issue. Mr. Lauth has also worked extensively on cases involving abduction. Over the years, experience has taught many lessons in the location of missing persons. Outside of a traditional law enforcement approach, a private investigator can pursue many alternative avenues that yield concrete results. First of all, a private investigator that works exclusively on missing adults, runaway teens and abducted children has much more time to dedicate toward the case. County, city and state police agencies as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) have enormous caseloads while manpower and resources are spread thin. A private investigator answers to the parents of a runaway or abducted child, or whoever retains his services. Law enforcement agencies many times cannot pursue every avenue available to locate a missing loved one.

A professional missing persons private investigator will engage the family in the search. Encouraging relatives, mothers and fathers to get out in the neighborhoods and utilize the public resources that are available. Lauth Missing Persons will aggressively pursue media exposure similar to the manner that was used in recent high profile disappearances as seen on CNN, NBC, 48 Hours, Prime Time Live and Inside Edition as well as local television and print media for the case to reach public eyes and ears increasing the chances of locating and recovering the missing adult or child. In addition, Lauth Missing Persons works closely with the National Center for Missing Adults in Phoenix, Arizona, where law enforcement, the media, and families can connect and share information and leads. The National Center for Missing Adults increases awareness of missing persons as well as offers wonderful resources for the family of a missing adult. The Center can also connect families with reputable resources. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, D.C. operates similarly for runaway teens and abducted children.

Lauth Missing Persons approaches a missing adult case proactively where law enforcement approaches such a case reactively. The only time law enforcement works proactively is when media attention is drawn to a disappearance, abduction, or kidnapping where foul play is involved. Otherwise, police agencies will not search for a missing adult unless they come across him or her during routine duty or as the result of a tip or call. They can only react to the information they receive.

Lauth Missing Persons works nationally. Thomas Lauth will travel to all states including Canada and Mexico and will travel overseas as well should the case require it. A few of the cities that Mr. Lauth has traveled to include Boston, Massachusetts; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; New York City, New York; Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; San Francisco, California; Wichita, Kansas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Baltimore, Maryland; Miami, Florida; Houston, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Oakland, California; Nashville, Tennessee; Louisville, Kentucky; Los Angeles, San Diego, California; Greenville, North Carolina and Brownsville, Texas on missing persons cases over the past twenty years. There are few experts in this field outside of law enforcement who work every day in locating missing persons.

MISSING PERSONS SCENARIOS

  • My ex-wife and her new husband recently joined a religious group, taking our two kids with them. I fear that the children are being abused and brain-washed, and am no longer allowed any contact with them.
  • Our 19-year-old son was a straight-A student starting his first year of college when he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. It was under control until he stopped taking his medication, had a psychotic episode, and ran away. He's been missing for three weeks and we are worried for his safety.
  • Our 16-year-old daughter has run away a few times in the past, now she has been gone two months and has been seen working the streets as a prostitute. We know she is being controlled by a pimp and can’t leave for fear of her own life.
  • My 22-year-old sister was taking extra classes during the summer break, keeping up her perfect GPA. I came home from work one day and she was gone, though all her belongings, including purse, cell phone, and car were there. The police can find no leads.
  • My 25-year-old son went to Mexico with some friends for Spring Break, his friends are back home now, but my son is not. His friend insists my son decided to stay an extra week before returning, but that was three weeks ago.
  • Our son and daughter-in-law went on an overseas for several months on a mission trip to a very volatile area. We had steady contact with them for the first few weeks, but haven’t heard anything from them for the last seven weeks, and cannot reach the mission office or the U.S. Consulate.
  • My estranged wife was hooked on online chat rooms, and recently while our young daughter was on a weekend visit with me, she just up and left, leaving no way for me to get in touch with her. I had no knowledge of her whereabouts but I did know she had my daughter with no custodial rights.
  • The police believe our teenaged daughter recently ran away, but after scouring our computer’s hard drive we believe she may have been unknowingly chatting online with a sexual predator. Help us find her before its too late!
  • A few weeks ago my 16-year-old-daughter ran away from home. I have contacted the police and they have not helped. We believe she has gotten involved with a gang or has become involved with drugs.
